Work

A corner board, May 2025
A corner board pulled away to show rotten, crumbling wood behind it, beside asphalt shingles

The painters found it while prepping: soft wood behind the gutter, hidden under sound paint.

The same house, stripped and wrapped

Old clapboards came off in runs, the sheathing was checked and wrapped, and the window trim was rebuilt.

New courses, primed
Blue clapboard wall with new primed runs of clapboard and three ladders against it

Every new board primed on all faces before it went up, waiting for the paint crew.

A shed, June 2025
The corner of a red shed with new pine corner boards and fascia, under a pine tree

Corner boards, fascia and door casings in new pine, cut to the old lines.

The arbour beside it

The arch had gone at the joints. New lattice posts and a rebuilt arch, ready for paint.

Window casings, June 2026
A pair of windows with new casings and sill on a pale clapboard wall, a ladder beside them

Casings and sills replaced on a clapboard house, sealed and primed the same day.

Every one of these was found by a painter, priced before it was touched, and painted by the same crew.

The soft spot, the peeling corner, the sill that moves. A phone picture is enough.

Bill comes to look

He probes the wood and checks the rest of that side of the house, because rot rarely stops where it shows.

Line by line, before any board comes off. Nothing starts without it.

Rot comes out

Cut back to sound wood. Anything that only shows once the boards are off goes on a new line, priced first.

Matched to the old profile, primed on all faces, fixed with stainless or hot-dipped fasteners.

Primed and painted

The painters take over on the same job, so the repair disappears into the wall.

We hired Premier Painting to paint the exterior of our Lynnfield home this Spring, as well as the pool shed. I am very happy we chose Bill and his team to do the work (one of 4 quotes we received). Our house hadn't been painted for close to 10 years and, while it had held up well, it definitely needed it. Our house needed some carpentry repairs, with more surfacing as the house was being prepped. Bill's carpenter Albert was excellent, very thorough and diligent in replacing shingles and window trim in several areas. The painting team, led by Anderson, was tremendous....very thorough in scraping and sanding, as well as re-glazing a good size bay window that really needed it. For finish coat, they use Benjamin Moore High Build, which I saw as a high quality choice. The team was very neat and efficient, completing the job in exactly 2 weeks.I would not hesitate to work with Premier Painting in the future.

Do I have to be painting the house too?

No. Carpentry on its own is fine. Most of it starts when a painter finds the rot, but you can call for the wood alone.

Can you match old clapboards and shingles?

Usually. We match the profile and the exposure, prime every face, and the paint crew blends the new runs into the old wall.

Who paints it afterwards?

The same company, under the one written quote. The carpenters hand the wall to the painters.

What about decks and porches?

Boards, steps and railings, yes. Send a photo and Bill tells you whether it is a repair or a rebuild.

Do you do interior trim?

Baseboard, casing, crown and built-ins, yes, most often alongside interior painting.

How is it priced?

Bill looks, then writes the quote line by line before any wood comes off. Rot that only shows once the boards are off is priced before it is replaced.
